Kaoru Ueda （ 1928 ～ ） was a painter known for his unique realistic paintings that depict objects conclusively. Later, he moved away from abstract painting and began to produce realistic paintings depicting familiar motifs from around 1970. In his own words, Ueda was interested in "shiny things, flowing things, and shining things," and his paintings of flowing raw eggs, melting ice cream, and shining streams of water are highly acclaimed for their style. This exhibition presents approximately 25 works by Kaoru Ueda in chronological order, beginning with her early works painted in the 1970s and continuing through 2000 and beyond, showing the development of her motifs and the expansion of her expression.
